Carr mentions that he prefers actual books over
Kindles or nooks. I do have to disagree on this one. He states that with a text
book you are able to drop if without worrying about it, spill coffee on it, and
not have to be so cautious. For me I do not really treat my belongings like
that. With the nook you do have to be more cautious with it but I think it is
far more convenient. With the nook you can bring it anywhere and you can even
read it outside with a glare. The nook allows you to buy any book, magazine, or
newspaper. With the nook you no longer have to squint at the tiny print, it
allows you to adjust the size of the font and even adjust the type of font you
are reading. You can lend other nook users books, magazines, or newspapers that
you previously purchased. You can look up words, organize your library, It With this device you do not have to go to the
book store and look around for the book you want. You can simply just type it
into the search bar. The features also allow you to search by genre. The Kindle
also has some free books, magazines, or newspapers you can download. When you
want to take a break from reading you can set screen savers to your nook.
Pictures of famous authors are already screen savers your nook has but it
allows you to personalize your screen savers as well. The nook also recommends
books to you based on books you have previously read. Lastly, the nook is
easier to carry, it is much lighter and thinner than a book. Therefore, I would
much rather have a nook or kindle rather than a textbook.

I do agree with you Shayla. The Kindle or nook is a great investment. It may be expensive at first but the amount of books that a person has to buy in his or her lifetime clearly out numbers the cost of a kindle or nook. It is simple and easy to use. Everything that a person needs is right in front of them. People fear that our society is becoming to dependent on technology, but when it is this great and convenient how can we not?
