I think Carr may be right about technology imposing into our daily lives and habits. After first i disagreed with his statement but then I gave it a lot more thought. I have this one habit that would seem weird to some people. I cannot eat without sitting and watching tv. I have to find something i like on before I start eating even if I waited all day to eat. i just can't eat without watching tv. It makes me feel uncomfortable. It has always beena habit for me and probably will still remain one.
Another thing that I took a closer look at was my taste in movies. My favorite kinds of mvoies are always the type where the internet is involed in some way. I find them creepy and scary because they are so true to life. One of my favorite movies is Megan Is Missing. It is a horror movie that takes place in early 2000s when chat rooms had just become popular. A girl named Megan agrees to meet a boy she thinks is named Josh off of the chat room in real life. However when she meets him she goes missing. not a big surprise because he abducts her. The rest of the movie is frightenting I can't tell if it is a true story even thought they advertised it as so make it even more eerie. Another of my favorite movies is old school elsewhere. One of the orinigal original internet chat room movies. Two friends make a pact to move out of their small town and go elsewhere. However one friend keeps getting involved with shady boys off the internet and vanishes. Her best friend takes her diary and searches for her everywhere. What transpired left me truly speechless. I didn't want to leave my house after that movie. another movie that involved the internent that I watched was trust which was directed by our dear friend David Schwimmer a.ka. Ross.  The movie is about a girl who ends up meeting a man online and devolps Stolkholm syndrome for him which is a victim who begins to relate or feel sympathy for her attacker. She even begins to protect him and build an honest relationship with him. Until she finally breaks down. I finally realized these are my favorite types of movies and books. I think because they're just so real and true in today's world and society. When your a female its almost impossible to not hear off your friend's relationship or fling that began off of facebook or myearbook. its a double edged sword as well because its so scary pictures are published on myspace, facebook, and myyearbook that sets women up forbeing a potential victim. You can never be too safe or too paranoid. I mean seriously. People with 2,000 friends on facebook: your not that great of a friend in real life so how do you know all these people or worst of all what do they want from you? Using the internet anyone can be whoever they want to be. maybe that's the thrill of it all. Seriosly though privacy settings arwnt really a bad thing. Privacy can and is still sacred.
