eBooks
EBooks are a new kind of technology that is growing and
becoming popular in today’s society.
EBooks can be found on many different websites on the internet and one
website in particular that is very popular is Google Books. Many of the eBooks available on Google Books
are free of cost and range from all different kinds of topics and genre.
There
are only some positive aspects of using Google Books. One very important aspect of Google Books is
the convenience of reading a book on the internet. If I wanted to read a book about criminal
justice, all I would have to search in Google’s books is “criminal justice” and
I will find pages upon pages of books just waiting to be read. Reading a book on the internet off of a
computer screen is very much different than that of a real book. Reading from a computer screen can become very
tiring after a while and eventually will make your eyes bother you. Another
disadvantage to reading books on the internet is that it limits where you can
read; reading from a laptop at the beach or buy a pool can become difficult because
of the suns lighting and if there is no electrical source to keep the laptops
charge then you’re reading time will have to end once it dies. Laptops are also very fragile so dropping it
on any surface can risk damaging it, especially if you are outside. EBooks are a good alternative if the book you
wished to read is unavailable in the store but available on the internet.
I think that I prefer to read from an actual book rather
than from the internet. A book is much
more comfortable and you can bring books mostly anywhere with you. Another good thing about books is that they
can easily fit in a bag and way very little compared to a full size
laptop. If a book were to get damaged it
might only be a lose of less than $20 but that is not the case when it comes to
laptops.
