You question whether or not we are losing our basic functions of learning. I understand your point of view, but I also believe that the internet has just opened up a way for our generation to obtain information. Though it may seem as though this is the reason that we could be digressing, I feel as though we are just 'simplifying.' In other words, our skill to read a full text is still there, its just whether or not someone chooses to apply it. Now with the internet, its just creating an easier way for us to obtain the same information.
